Fortunately for Pant, no suspension followed this time. The updated IPL rules removed automatic suspensions for third offences starting from this season. In contrast, Hardik Pandya had missed Mumbai Indians’ opening match this year because his ban carried over from IPL 2024.
LSG Fell Short Despite Pant’s Stunning Knock
Pant delivered a stellar individual performance, scoring an unbeaten 118 from 61 deliveries. With his effort, LSG posted a formidable total of 227/3. However, RCB successfully chased down the target with eight balls to spare. Virat Kohli anchored the innings with 54, while Jitesh Sharma’s unbeaten 85 finished the job.
