Rain Ends Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Playoff Hopes as Delhi Capitals Gain Crucial Point
In a pivotal clash of IPL 2025, Rain ruins SRH vs DC match and officially knocks Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) out of the playoff race. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals (DC) walk away with a valuable point, which could prove decisive in their pursuit of a top-four finish.
Pat Cummins’ Spell Dents Delhi Capitals Early
Choosing to bowl first, SRH captain Pat Cummins made full use of a challenging pitch in Hyderabad. With a grassy yet grippy surface on offer, Cummins exploited the conditions masterfully. His short-of-length deliveries held up off the pitch, making life miserable for DC batters. By the end of his spell, Cummins took 3 for 19, all inside the Powerplay, dismissing top-order batters including Karun Nair and KL Rahul.
To compound DC’s problems, Ishan Kishan, returning as wicketkeeper, took all three catches off Cummins’ bowling. As the innings progressed, Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat joined the action. By the eighth over, Delhi had stumbled to 29 for 5, struggling to stay afloat in this key IPL 2025 encounter.

Stubbs and Ashutosh Revive Delhi’s Innings
Just when the innings seemed to collapse, Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma stepped up. Stubbs, with an unbeaten 41 off 36 balls, anchored one end while Ashutosh counter-attacked at the other. Brought in as an Impact Player, Ashutosh smashed 41 from 26 balls, including three sixes. Their 66-run partnership ensured Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad 2025 didn’t end in a one-sided affair. In the final six overs, DC added 61 runs and finished at 133 for 7.
