Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar fight back
While GT’s chase began with the early loss of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan’s 80 off 49 and Washington Sundar’s 48 gave them hope. Together, they stitched an 84-run stand, keeping the required run rate manageable. However, Jasprit Bumrah’s spell once again proved decisive.
A searing yorker from Bumrah ended Washington’s innings and swung momentum back to MI. Even though GT needed just 36 off the last two overs, tight bowling from Boult and debutant Ashwani Kumar sealed the match for Mumbai.
