India vs England 4th Test injury update brings a fresh setback to the Indian camp. Both Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are likely to miss the Manchester Test. In response, Anshul Kamboj has been drafted in as a replacement. With the series at a crucial stage, this blow couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Injuries Hit Indian Pace Unit Before Crucial Clash
To begin with, Arshdeep Singh injured his bowling hand during a training session in Beckenham. At the same time, Akash Deep is nursing a groin strain. These injuries have disrupted India’s pace options. As a result, the team’s preparations have taken a serious hit. Since India trail 2-1 in the five-match series, the fourth Test is now a must-win.
Anshul Kamboj Added to the Squad as Replacement
Therefore, selectors have called up Haryana’s Anshul Kamboj to join the squad. Notably, he impressed during the recent India A vs England A series. He claimed four wickets and played a key knock, sharing a 149-run stand with Tanush Kotian. Because of his pace and bounce, he offers variety and energy to the depleted attack.
Anshul Kamboj might join the Indian Test squad as Arshdeep Singh’s replacement due to injury.

Bumrah and Siraj Likely to Shoulder the Burden
Naturally, all eyes now turn to Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. While Bumrah was rested for the third Test, he is expected to lead the attack once again. Furthermore, Siraj has bowled the most overs this series. Consequently, India must manage his workload carefully. Coach Ryan ten Doeschate had earlier hinted that injuries could force rotation.
India Must Win to Stay Alive in the Series
In short, India’s pace options are running thin. Other than Bumrah and Siraj, only Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna remain fit. Therefore, the India vs England 4th Test becomes a high-stakes encounter. A win is vital to keep the series alive. Although injuries are a concern, India still has a chance to fight back.
