Cricket Canada Terminates Agreement with Bombay Sports After Contract Breach

Deal Terminated After Repeated Contract Violations

Cricket Canada has officially ended its partnership with Bombay Sports, effective December 23, 2024. The decision follows ongoing contract violations, despite multiple warnings. Although several opportunities were given for correction, Bombay Sports failed to act. Therefore, the board concluded that the agreement could no longer continue.

Repeated Warnings Ignored Despite Final Notice

Over several months, Cricket Canada issued formal notices to address the issues. Even after a final warning on October 29, 2024, Bombay Sports failed to resolve the defaults. As a result, the relationship broke down beyond repair. Ultimately, this left Cricket Canada with no viable path forward other than termination.

President Amjad Bajwa Speaks on Professional Standards

Cricket Canada President Amjad Bajwa commented on the decision, saying:

“We expect all our partners to uphold professional standards. Unfortunately, Bombay Sports failed to meet those expectations, and that left us with no choice.”

Clearly, this response reflects the board’s strong emphasis on accountability and professionalism.

What Lies Ahead for Cricket Canada?

Moving forward, Cricket Canada aims to maintain continuity in its operations. While the loss of a partner is never ideal, the board remains confident in its vision. Future partnerships will be evaluated with even greater diligence. Additionally, Cricket Canada plans to keep growing the game across the country through stable and transparent alliances.
