Canada has qualified for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after an emphatic seven-wicket win over the Bahamas. Furthermore, this result ensured they topped the Americas regional qualifier with one match still to play.
Unbeaten Run in Regional Qualifier
Notably, the tournament was held in Ontario. Throughout the event, Canada remained undefeated across all five matches. Moreover, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, and the Bahamas failed to match their level of consistency. Consequently, this will be Canada’s second appearance at the T20 World Cup. Interestingly, they also qualified for the 2024 tournament, which took place in the USA and the West Indies.
Additionally, Canada will now join India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, USA, and West Indies. On the other hand, seven more spots will be decided through regional qualifiers across Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

Similarly, Shivam Sharma picked up 3 wickets for 16 runs. Plus, Ansh Patel supported the attack with 2 wickets for 7 runs. In the end, the Bahamas were dismissed in 19.5 overs.
Afterward, Canada chased the target comfortably in only 5.3 overs. Specifically, Dilpreet Bajwa led the way with a quickfire 36 not out off just 14 balls. Previously, Canada had already beaten Bermuda by 110 runs and the Cayman Islands by 10 wickets. Also, they registered comfortable wins against the other teams in this tournament.
What’s Next for Canada?
Moving forward, Canada will face Bermuda in their last game on Sunday. Certainly, this qualification is a huge milestone for Canadian cricket. Furthermore, fans hope they can take this winning momentum into the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Finally, this tournament has proven their depth in both batting and bowling, and it sets them up well for the future.
