The Australia vs India 4th ODI 2025 began with Mitchell Marsh winning the toss and choosing to bowl first at the Gold Coast. Australia made three key changes to their lineup, welcoming back Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, and Ben Dwarshuis. Meanwhile, India opted for an unchanged side after their strong win in Hobart.
Maxwell and Zampa Return for Australia
All-rounder Glenn Maxwell has made his long-awaited return after recovering from a broken wrist suffered during a training session in New Zealand. He narrowly missed the previous match in Hobart. But after regaining full fitness, he has slotted back into the middle order. Matt Short has moved up the batting order in the absence of Travis Head.
Adam Zampa has also rejoined the squad after taking time off to be with his family for the birth of his second child. His inclusion strengthens Australia’s spin attack, which now features both Zampa and Maxwell. Meanwhile, Matt Kuhnemann makes way.
The Australia vs India 4th ODI 2025 also sees left-arm seamer Ben Dwarshuis return from injury. He replaces Sean Abbott, who has been released to prepare for the upcoming Ashes series. Meanwhile, Josh Philippe has been added to the middle order, with Mitch Owen missing out.

India Stick With Winning Combination
India captain Suryakumar Yadav announced no changes to the playing XI that secured victory in the previous match. He mentioned that the team would have batted first regardless of the toss result.
“It looks like subcontinent conditions,” Suryakumar said before the game. “The pitch seems similar to what we get in India, so we aim to post a big total.”
India’s unchanged XI features Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill at the top, followed by Suryakumar, Tilak Varma, and Axar Patel. Washington Sundar, Jitesh Sharma, and Shivam Dube provide all-round depth. Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, and Jasprit Bumrah lead the bowling attack.
