BCCI Complaint Against Haris Rauf and Farhan, PCB Targets Suryakumar Yadav in Asia Cup 2025 Controversy

The BCCI complaint against Haris Rauf and Farhan has added fresh tension to the Asia Cup 2025. India officially reported Pakistan players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan to the ICC after their on-field gestures during the Super Fours clash in Dubai. At the same time, the PCB lodged a counter-complaint against India captain Suryakumar Yadav, accusing him of making “political” comments.

BCCI Complaint Against Haris Rauf and Farhan in Asia Cup 2025

According to reports, the BCCI complaint against Haris Rauf and Farhan was sent to the ICC by email on Wednesday. The incidents in question involved Farhan’s animated celebration after his half-century and Rauf’s gestures directed towards a section of fans at the boundary line. Both moments quickly spread on social media, leading to debates about player conduct.

If the cricketers deny the charges in writing, an ICC hearing could follow. They may have to appear before match referee Richie Richardson. Andy Pycroft, the other official at the tournament, remains on duty for separate matches.

PCB Complaint Against Suryakumar Yadav

The PCB’s reaction came soon after, as it filed a formal complaint against Suryakumar Yadav. The allegation concerned his post-match remarks during the first India vs Pakistan group game, where he dedicated the victory to the families of victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. The board argued that the comments carried political undertones, which are prohibited in ICC events.

“Hope we continue to inspire the armed forces and make them proud,” Suryakumar had stated at the presentation ceremony. The words, however, sparked diplomatic sensitivity and added fuel to the already tense rivalry.

Asia Cup 2025 Heats Up With Rival Complaints

The BCCI complaint against Haris Rauf and Farhan and the PCB complaint against Suryakumar Yadav have dominated headlines, overshadowing the cricket itself. Heated exchanges between Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Shubman Gill, and Abhishek Sharma further underlined the intensity of the clash.

With both boards escalating matters to the ICC, the Asia Cup 2025 is now as much about controversies as it is about cricket. The outcome of these complaints could set a significant precedent for player behaviour and rivalry management in future India vs Pakistan encounters.
