Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill delivered a record-breaking performance to guide Gujarat Titans (GT) into the playoffs with a commanding ten-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC). Chasing 199, GT reached 205 without losing a wicket, making them only the second team in T20 history to chase 200+ runs without a dismissal.

Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill Dominate the Chase

From the outset, Sai Sudharsan displayed aggressive intent. A boundary off Axar Patel got him going, followed by a flurry of fours and a six off T Natarajan. By the third over, Sudharsan had stormed to 35 off just 13 balls. Although the scoring rate dipped slightly in the latter half of the powerplay, GT ended the six overs at 59 for 0.

Shubman Gill took his time early on but shifted gears in the middle overs. After reaching 21 off 19 balls, Gill launched three sixes off Axar, Kuldeep, and Nigam in successive overs. His fifty came off 33 balls, and he supported Sai Sudharsan brilliantly throughout the chase.

Century for Sudharsan Seals the Deal

Sai Sudharsan reached his hundred in style, bringing it up off 56 deliveries. GT’s dominance was highlighted when they smashed 154 runs without loss in 15 overs. Sudharsan sealed the match with a six, ending on 108 not out. Gill contributed 93 off 53 balls in the unbroken opening stand.

KL Rahul’s Heroics Go in Vain

Earlier, DC had posted a challenging 199 for 3, thanks to a magnificent 112* by KL Rahul. He built the innings after a cautious start, forming a solid 90-run partnership with Abishek Porel. Despite a few lucky boundaries and a late surge, Delhi’s total fell short.

Gujarat Titans Clinch Playoff Spot

With this result, Gujarat Titans officially booked their playoff berth. Their clinical chase led by Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill also helped RCB and PBKS qualify. Meanwhile, DC, MI, and LSG remain in the hunt for the last playoff spot.
