New Zealand secured a spot in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final with a 50-run win over South Africa in the semi-final. Captain Mitchell Santner played a key role, taking three crucial wickets to lead his team to victory. New Zealand reaches final and will now face India in the final in Dubai.

New Zealand’s Strong Batting Performance

Batting first, New Zealand scored a big total of 362/6. Rachin Ravindra (108 off 101) and Kane Williamson (102 off 94) scored centuries, building a strong foundation for the team.

Although Will Young got out early, Ravindra and Williamson kept the scoreboard moving with a meaningful partnership. In the final overs, Daryl Mitchell (49 off 37) and Glenn Phillips (49 off 27) added quick runs, helping New Zealand cross 360 runs.

Santner’s Bowling Secures Victory

South Africa started well, with Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma making a 100-run partnership. But Mitchell Santner changed the game by dismissing both batters and Heinrich Klaasen.

David Miller (100 off 92 balls) tried to fight back, but regular wickets from Matt Henry, Michael Bracewell, and Glenn Phillips made it tough for South Africa. They finished at 312/9, falling 50 runs short.

New Zealand to Face India in the Final

With this win, New Zealand will play against India in the Dubai ICC Champions Trophy final on Sunday. Can they win their first-ever Champions Trophy, or will India take the title? The final promises to be an exciting match!
